With deep roots in the Five Rivers area of Middle Tennessee, Dale grew up in Dickson County working in the family furniture and appliance business. After graduation from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in Nuclear Engineering, he moved to Newport News, Virginia where he was a refueling engineer for the replacement of the nuclear fuel on the aircraft carrier Enterprise. Following a year each in Cincinnati, Ohio and Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, he moved his growing family back to Dickson to again work at the family business. He received his real estate license in 1976 and opened his own firm, Ragan's Five Rivers Realty & Auction Co. in 1985 at the same location where it still opens for business Monday through Saturday. He also continues to own and operate the family furniture and appliance business which began in 1946. Dale and his wife Mavis have been married since 1963. They are the parents of five married children and grandparents to thirteen of the finest grandchildren anywhere. Raised in an era when good service had true meaning, he continues to operate his businesses by that philosophy. He is active in civic and church affairs and is knowledgeable of the Five Rivers area.
